‘The early days were exhausting, but also the best team-bonding experience. It taught us the real meaning of teamwork — and made it rewarding to watch Berlin slowly turn blue.’

5 years. 5 stories. // Featuring: Amine Rouan-Serik, Operations Specialist, Germany

For the third story in our anniversary series, we caught up with Amine Rouan-Serik. Starting as one of the very first couriers in Germany, Amine’s journey shows how Wolt creates opportunities for people to grow, learn, and shape the business from the inside.

Q: How did your journey with Wolt in Germany begin, and what motivated you to join the team?

In early 2020, I was working as a personal trainer. When the first lockdown hit and gyms closed, I needed something new. That’s when I found Wolt and joined as courier number 10 in Germany! Delivering gave me a firsthand look into the courier experience, and I quickly started helping the ops team improve things. By the second lockdown, I knew I wanted to contribute more from inside ops — and that’s when my Wolt story really began.

Q: What has been your most memorable moment?

I’ll never forget my first delivery. Google Maps glitched, and I spent way too long trying to find the address. The order was late, but the customer left such kind feedback that it turned what was supposed to be a side hustle into a long-term adventure.

Q: In your eyes, how has Wolt in Germany evolved since the beginning?

It’s been a wild ride full of wins, stumbles, and a lot of learning. What makes it special is that we went through it all together, surrounded by insanely talented and fun people.

Q: What was the biggest challenge you’ve faced?

The early days were intense. We’d onboard couriers all day, handle support in the evenings, and then build backpacks late into the night. Exhausting, but also one of the best bonding experiences. It showed me the real meaning of teamwork — and made it rewarding to watch Berlin slowly turn blue.

Q: How has Wolt impacted your personal or professional life?

Professionally, I’ve learned operations inside out and gained a much bigger perspective on how the business works. Personally, I’ve made lifelong friends and joined a diverse community that has shaped my last five years.

Q: What’s one thing about Wolt culture in Germany that makes you proud?

Definitely the diversity. People from all walks of life come together here, and everyone is accepted for who they are.

Q: If you had to describe the past 5 years in one word?

Growth — for Wolt as a company, and for me as a person.

Q: What do you hope Wolt will achieve in the next 5 years?

That we expand into every single city in Germany, while keeping the same high standards. I want “Blue” to be the first thing people think of when they order anything.

Q: What’s your favorite order on Wolt?

Lemongrass — I had to say it! But also Maison Umami has been a big favorite.

Thank you, Amine, for sharing your story and showing us what it means to grow alongside Wolt — from courier number 10 to ops.
