The popular delivery service Wolt, which launched operations in Luxemburg in February, is opening its second city in the Grand Duchy, Esch-sur-Alzette.

From today, the people of the southern city and the surrounding towns including Differdange, Schifflange, Mondercange, Sanem can use the Wolt app or website to get food from more than 75 restaurants and other goods delivered to their home or office within 30 minutes.

The company has partnered with a diverse selection of local restaurants including a Greek favourite Souvlaki, Cloud Factory, Burger King, Subway, Chiche, Coyote and many more. Wolt’s vision when entering a new market is to have the widest selection so that everyone can find something they like.

- We are very excited about bringing Wolt to Esch. Since our entry into Luxemburg in February, we have been practically blown away by the positive reception from both customers and merchants. Our restaurant partners tell us that a great majority of the sales they get through Wolt is new business. These new sales come on top of the regular walk-in traffic, adding to the businesses’ topline. We are happy to be able to strengthen the local restaurant business in Luxemburg, and we are looking forward to working with local restaurants in Esch,” said Ludvig Helmertz, interim general manager for Wolt in Luxemburg.

Just a month ago, Wolt launched its subscription service Wolt+ in Luxemburg, much earlier than expected due to high demand. Wolt+ gives subscribers free delivery as well as access to special deals and discounts.

Wolt also recently started accepting Pluxee (Sodexo) et Edenred cards as payment popular among many Luxembourg employees.
