- At the same time, Wolt launches home delivery in its fourth region in Luxembourg: Remich
- From the start, 11 local venues will be available for delivery and new users will get 14 days of free delivery
Food delivery platform Wolt has announced an exclusive partnership with Sushi Shop to help reduce food waste in Luxembourg. Starting this week, all unsold sushi at Sushi Shop will be available at a 30% discount every night from 19.30 (time may differ among shops), exclusively on Wolt.
“This initiative aims to tackle the pressing issue of food waste while providing customers with the opportunity to enjoy premium sushi at a reduced price. By making surplus food accessible to more people, the program combines sustainability with affordability,” said Wolt Luxembourg’s General Manager, Tomás Etcheverry.
Sushi Shop brings a proven track record to this collaboration. In France, a similar program for in-store pick-up has been met with remarkable success, cutting food waste while increasing customer satisfaction. Now, this impactful initiative is being expanded to Luxembourg, with Wolt’s delivery platform providing an innovative and convenient twist.
"Partnering with Sushi Shop on this food waste reduction initiative aligns perfectly with our mission. Together, we’re making it easier for customers to enjoy great food while benefitting our community and contributing to a more sustainable future," said Tomás Etcheverry.
The program underscores the shared values of innovation, quality, and sustainability between Wolt and Sushi Shop. Customers can now enjoy high-quality sushi at a significantly reduced price while helping reduce the volume of food discarded each day.
At the same time, Wolt expands its delivery area to Remich. Residents and visitors in the picturesque town can now enjoy fast and reliable deliveries from local restaurants and a bakery—all from the convenience of their homes or offices.
"Remich is a town rich in culture, cuisine, and charm, and we’re glad to bring Wolt’s delivery services to this vibrant community," said Tomás Etcheverry. "Our mission is to make everyday life easier for people by offering a reliable, high-quality delivery experience while supporting local businesses. We deliver both international chains such as McDonald’s and Pizza Hut, and local favorites like Casa 49, Pasta Cosy and La Croisette."
Wolt's arrival in Remich marks the company's continued expansion across the Grand Duchy, offering more residents access to its efficient delivery network. Wolt launched operations in the City of Luxembourg in February of this year, adding Esch-sur-Alzette in June and Mersch in July. The platform connects users with an ever-growing range of local favourites, from artisanal bakeries and fine dining establishments to specialty shops and convenience stores.
Wolt’s opening hours are every day from 10:30 in the morning to 22:30 in the evening, with Fridays and Saturdays being open until 23:30. The selection may vary throughout the day, depending on the individual venues’ opening hours.
Customers can download the Wolt app or visit the website to explore participating businesses, place orders, and track deliveries in real-time. Wolt ensures quick and convenient service, with deliveries within 30 minutes.
Businesses interested in partnering with Wolt can apply via the platform’s website wolt.com, while those interested in working as couriers with flexible working opportunities and competitive earnings should apply here. As an incentive to test the new service, new users in Remich are given 14 days of free delivery when they sign up for Wolt.
