More and more Luxembourgers are using Wolt while travelling abroad. Throughout the summer, users order everything from restaurant meals and groceries to other essentials delivered directly to hotels, apartments and holiday homes in popular travel destinations.

Wolt is available in many popular holiday destinations for Luxembourgers, including Greece, Cyprus, Croatia, Malta, Germany and the Nordic countries.

“Many people associate Wolt with everyday life back home in Luxembourg, but we see that more and more customers are also using the app while on holiday. Families with young children especially appreciate having food delivered when they are tired after a long day in the sun and do not feel like going out again,” says Tomás Etcheverry, General Manager for Wolt Luxembourg.

Through the app, users can easily order from local restaurants, but also have groceries delivered directly to where they are staying. In several countries, customers can also order over-the-counter medicines, painkillers and products such as sunscreen.

According to Wolt statistics from the summer holiday season of 2025, Luxembourgish users ordered from Wolt in 28 different countries, with the five most popular countries for Luxembourgers were Germany, Austria, Greece, Malta and Hungary. Luxembourgers also bring their food habits with them while travelling, as burgers and pizza were the most popular meals ordered abroad — just like at home. At the same time, Luxembourgers ordered from more than 90 different categories while away.

Supermarket orders were especially popular in Germany, Asian and kebab in Austria, while — fortunately — the most popular souvlaki and Greek food was ordered in Greece.

“One of the cool things about travelling is of course going out to eat at local restaurants. At the same time, every parent of small children knows that it does not always work out that way. In those moments, it is incredibly convenient to order lunch, dinner or whatever you are missing directly to your hotel or holiday home,” says Etcheverry.

Another benefit for users is that menus and app content can easily be translated into your language. This makes it easier to understand local menus and discover restaurants and stores nearby.

“Translated menus lower the barrier for trying local places you might not otherwise have discovered. It is also an easy way to explore the local area when visiting somewhere new,” says Etcheverry.

Wolt is available in more than 30 countries globally and is used by millions of customers both at home and while travelling.
