Today, over 20% of all Wolt orders come from non-restaurant verticals like groceries, pharmacy, electronics, beauty, and more. That shift is only accelerating. We also started introducing entirely new services, including peer-to-peer package delivery in Finland - where you can send items to friends or family across the city - and catering, making it easier to serve food for events, offices, or large gatherings.
To support the expanding world of products and new services, we’re updating the Wolt app to better serve the needs and expectations of our customers. These changes are designed to help you discover, browse, and shop more intuitively than ever - no matter what you’re looking for.
As Wolt expands, the old structure - multiple tabs, long backtracking paths - simply couldn’t keep up. So we reimagined the way customers move through the app from the ground up.
Universal Search & Browse Button: At the bottom of your screen, you’ll now find a floating button that takes you anywhere you want to go in Wolt - from your favorite restaurants to a new skincare brand, fresh groceries, or even package delivery. Either through simply searching or by browsing our categories, collections, and services, clearly laid out in the Browsing menu view.
Cleaner, Faster Layout: Your profile is now in the top-left corner, the activity hub (for promos, updates, and offers) remains in the top-right, and your shopping basket is always visible and moves to the bottom - right where your thumb is.
Smooth, Delightful Transitions: Animations and gestures now guide you fluidly between sections and help you with orientation - an app that feels as modern and effortless as what you’re shopping for.
Whether you're here to grab lunch, buy vitamins, or discover a new homeware store, the new navigation helps you get there in fewer taps - with more fun along the way.
We’ve made a fundamental shift in how discovery works on Wolt. Instead of starting with a venue and then browsing its inventory, you can now start with products you’re looking for - be it headphones, moisturizers, or frozen pizza - and instantly explore options across multiple stores, all in one seamless view.
Go to the Electronics category, filter for Headphones, and instantly browse options from multiple electronics retailers. Want to compare skincare products? Explore the Beauty category and scroll through moisturizers from pharmacies, drug stores, and supermarkets. Each category now offers deep filtering, structured hierarchies, and a smooth browsing experience to help you compare and discover the best fit.
By putting products front and center, we’re making it easier for customers to find what they need - without clicking in and out of venues - while giving merchants a greater chance to be discovered across relevant categories. With a window-shopping experience featured across categories, products get visibility based on relevance, not just venue name, helping merchants surface their best offerings to customers who are actively looking for them. Merchants benefit by being part of a wider, curated experience that drives exposure, inspires new customers, and supports conversion beyond their existing base.
As Wolt’s selection continues to grow, we’ve made search more intelligent and intuitive. A new machine-learning model now interprets your intent and organizes results by the most relevant types of venues - like Grocery, Restaurants, Pharmacies, or Electronics.

All grouped by intent and ranked by what you're most likely looking for. This way, you get to your answer faster — with the option to fine-tune what you see with smart filters, such as narrowing by store type.
We’ve also shifted toward a product- and dish-first search experience. Rather than only showing venues, you’ll now see actual products and dishes directly in your results - allowing you to browse visually across offerings from multiple stores. It’s a more dynamic, “window-shopping” experience, helping you compare items at a glance before even tapping into a store.

The team is also working on a visual refresh of the app. It is not just about a new look to level up the Wolt experience, it’s a foundation for growth.
