Helsinki, April 8 | To better cater to the evolving needs of restaurants, Wolt is proud to announce today the addition of Wolt Hybrid Delivery as an option within Self-Delivery. This allows merchants to opt between leveraging Wolt's network of courier partners or utilizing their own delivery staff to fulfill Wolt orders.
Each and every restaurant has unique needs, which is why Wolt offers a range of partnership options to help them meet their business goals. As part of this ongoing engagement, Wolt introduced Self-Delivery in 2022, a product that allows restaurants to deploy their own in-house delivery staff to fulfill Wolt orders. Upon launch, thousands of restaurants, from the bustling chains to the cherished local eateries have used the Wolt platform to reach new customers, all while supporting and retaining their in-house delivery staff.
Two of the biggest takeaways we heard are wanting more flexibility and requesting additional assistance to remedy staffing concerns. This update not only benefits restaurants with fully established fleets, but it also encourages smaller shops to find cost-efficient operations. With Wolt Hybrid Delivery restaurants have both flexibility and control to determine which orders make the most financial and operational sense for staff to deliver and which orders could be fulfilled by Wolt Courier Partners.Verna Niva, Product Lead, Self Delivery
Wolt Hybrid Delivery allows restaurants to complement their own delivery drivers with Wolt's courier partners. As a result of today’s product update, Self-Delivery restaurants on Wolt can increase their operational capacity to meet demand, better balance staffing, expand their customer base, and grow order volume. For restaurant owners using a tablet, they can use the in-tablet button to toggle to full Wolt courier partner fulfillment immediately, in real-time. When a restaurant wishes to revert to normal operations, simply turn the toggle off and a restaurant will be ready to utilize their in-house delivery staff again.
Wolt Hybrid Delivery is now available to all restaurants in Germany, Greece, Cyprus, Austria, Sweden, Finland, Poland, Slovakia, Japan, Norway and Denmark. Wolt Hybrid Delivery will be automatically available for all new restaurant partners utilizing Self-Delivery, and existing partners will have the ability to enable this feature.
