Helsinki, 16.12.2024 – As 2024 comes to a close, we analyzed our data to reveal the most popular orders, trending products, and insights into how people across Europe ate, shopped, and celebrated. Spanning data from January to November, this recap highlights favorite dishes, grocery essentials, and gifts that brought joy and simplicity to everyday life - one delivery at a time!
Burgers were the undisputed star of the year, with cheeseburgers leading the way as the top-ordered food. A true classic, they satisfied cravings from casual dinners to late-night indulgences, often paired with French fries and sweet crepes for the ultimate midnight trio. But it wasn’t all about indulgence - café culture brought its own flavor to the table: in Greece and Cyprus, the freddo espresso reigned as the ultimate cool companion, proving that staying energized can be as stylish as it is delicious. Healthy habits also found their spotlight, adding a fresh twist to the year’s top trends. Bananas claimed the title of best-selling grocery item in five countries, while mineral water topped the charts in nine. This perfect balance of indulgence and hydration showed that Wolt customers know how to pair comfort foods with everyday mindfulness.
Roses topped the list of most-ordered flowers, with Valentine’s Day, Women’s and Mother’s Day leading floral deliveries. In fact, Valentine’s Day saw a whopping 37x spike in florist sales! Tulips followed closely, making up nearly a quarter of all floral queries, alongside sunflowers, which added their own charm to the year’s romantic gestures.
Slovakia’s longest delivery of the year stretched an impressive 46 km - longer than a marathon - showing that Wolt is ready to go far to bring joy and simplicity to everyday life!
Denmark set the bar high with a single order of 200 poke bowls - enough to feed a crowd at a seaside picnic. Germany followed with 110 pizzas, while Norway wrapped things up with an impressive 100 burritos, showing that big appetites came in all flavors this year!
Human's best friend was well cared for this year, with dog food dominating pet supply orders. One standout order totaled over 750 Euros, showing just how much Wolt customers value their furry companions.
Luxembourg topped the charts for advance orders, with Denmark and Lithuania close behind - leading the way in planning ahead and staying stress-free!
Cyprus took the lead for Wolt for Work orders, with Latvia and Malta rounding out the top three. From office lunches to meeting snacks, workplaces relied on Wolt to keep their teams energized and happy!
